I recently was lucky enough to pick up a GR1v but the case it came with kinda sucks, rather, it is all beat up. Are there any nice little cases someone can suggest to me? Preferably leather, but doesn't matter all too much.

To be specific, something with a nice snug fit to keep it in when not in use. Nothing half-case-like.

I recently bought a chrome accessory pouch and found that my GR1s fits snugly in it. You can attach it to your belt, bag, etc. It has a very utilitarian look (not leather or anything fancy, sorry OP), but I felt I needed to mention it just because I found it to be the perfect size.

Any idea if this will fit a GRD III?
I think it's a bit shorter than a GR1 but maybe a touch thicker.

I was googling dimensions for the GR1 until I realized I could take our a ruler and measure mine
GRD 107 x 25 x 58 mm (dpreview.com)
GR1 111 x 31 x 61 mm (steel ruler)
The chrome pouch would be perfect for the GRD since it's very snug with the GR1.

I bought a zing neoprene case for mine. It's a nice fit for the GR1v.

All great suggestions! Especially on the Chrome pouch. Cool to fit on my backpack while I'm walking the streets. I might really consider it, thanks!

Haha that's the case my set came with. It doesn't age very well..

Went over to the Chrome store and checked out the accessory pounch with my GRD III. It's a very tight fit. The GRD has a ring around the lens that protrudes and makes it a bit difficult to slide in and out of the case (the film GR doesn't have this).
Not sure if this case would stretch/ loosen up over time but you couldn't grab the camera quickly for a shot which is why a case that attaches to a backpack or messenger strap would be appealing to me.
Oh well.

Check out the zing pouch I linked to. It's cheap and quite a good fit.

I actually have a similar pouch to the Zing, a Lowepro Dublin 30, simple neoprene, just a fold over velcro top but I was interested in the Chrome because it has a Velcro belt loop that allow you to thread it through a vertical strap, like on a backpack or a messenger bag rather than through a horizontal strap like you would for a belt.
Would be super convenient for shooting with a bag on if you could get the camera in and out quickly.

True. But for $10, I'd take the cheaper pouch and have someone sew on a loop oriented the other direction...

Very true. Thanks for the heads up on the overly tight fit on the Chrome pouch. And I really was into the vertical fit as well because I also plan to attach it to my backpack or strap of my camera bag.
The Zing case also sounds great. But for now I bought a Gordy neck strap to wear while the GR1v still has no case.
