Hi I am would like to ask abaut cases for Epson R-d1 with Nokton 50mm f1.5 lens. So I neeed an advice: wich case should i buy:
1) Original Epson rd1sc1 case
2) Original Luigi's cases for Epson R-D1
3) Zhou black leather half case for Epson R-D1
4) Or ...
Please I need an advice!

I have the Zhou case (black with red stitches) and it fits perfectly, not too tight or too loose.

There are two inconveniences: if the camera is in the case, you can't open or close the display and you can't remove or insert the SD-card, so for these two things, you have to take it out of the case. It would be better if the cut-out at the back would be a bit larger, so the display could be opened or closed while in the case.

Stefan.

Using zhou case, grip is improved and works great with bigger lenses. Pics below with the 50f1.5

,,,

another vote for the Zhou case
also the black with red stitches
I'm note worried about turning over the lcd, as I don't turn it over :)
and as I normally don't fill the SD card in one days shooting I'm not fussed at having to remove the case only the once when I get home

One more vote for Zhou.
I use the all-black one.
The battery goes out before I can fill a 2G card.
But a good condition battery (Fuji NP80) can stand for a whole day, so it's again not a critical problem. YMMV.

As cheaper seems to be fashion, let's hear/see it for true artisan work.
Luigi's.
Fits 1st class, leather soft and flexible. Smells beautiful like leather should. Exemplary quality control.
Check the close up, if you can't see the difference ask the young lady. She's seen more handbags in a week than you'll see in a lifetime. Exquisite workmanship.
Humana -the name says it all.

Hi,
I've got the Zhou all-black half case.
It's very less expensive than Luigi's.
I think the only problem is the smell (for few monthes when it's new).
I would like turn on/of the display but it's impossible with the case;
For battery and SD I change it only at home so it's not a problem.

If you want a complete case you will use always the same lens, so most of us use half case.

I'm also a Zhou half-case user. I'd love a luigi, but the Zhou has been great. It's been all over the world stuffed into messenger bags and it's held up great.

sorry guys... was busy last week.. anyway, I've gotten some requests for my case. Perhaps if all who is really interested could drop me a message and I can work out another batch? what do you guys think?
