Slantface, those ambrotypes of yours are exceptional! You know, the more technology advances, the more these skilled, labour-intensive processes are going to be appreciated and sought after. Stick with it!

Thank you rxmd, hooded, and surfer dude. I am definitely going to keep playing with it. Its a lot of work for me at this stage, having failed plates, or sharpness issues, but it is getting easier with each plate. I agree with you Surfer that with all the tech coming out and all the concerns with having just the latest outdated digital camera, that these alternative processes will prosper. I now have one camera, one lens for each of my 2 formats (4x5 and 8x10). I don't think I'll need anything else, which is weird.
