Budapest - War damage near Vienna Gate
At the time of this visit (1997), much damage from WW2 and the '56 revolution was still visible. As property was re-privatised after the end of communism this began to be cleaned up - that process was still underway back then. I am pretty sure this is WW2 damage as the area in question was the subject of intensive battles in late '44, early '45. I am also pretty sure that building itself has been demolished since as Google Maps fails to show it.
