Change of plans, no longer thinking about replacing my NIB S3 2000 with a user S3 2000 Black

I have been through this process recently as well... I have the black S3 new 2002 re-issue with the 50mm and the boxes. I also have a S4 EP (helical in feet) and a '59 S3 Black re-paint also in feet (not Olympic).

The New Black S3 has become the one I reach for the most - but I do use all three and there's a lot to be said for the S4. The new 50mm is nice but kind of BIG - I like the old 5cm f1.4 lens and the 5cm f2 for handling/size.

The Olympic S3 cameras are pretty dang cool... I was hoping my re-paint was from that series but alas, no.... those are in the 632**** serial number block.

S4 still has a huge appeal, I may keep an eye out for one that is suitable for painting. I used to paint brass models all the time with very durable baked hobby paint, it can’t be much worse to do after dechroming.

I have a feeling the S3 2K and lens will go away, I’ll keep the S2 with the 50/2 living on that, and I’ll use the new S3 Olympic for my 35 and 105. My 135 only gets very occasional use, it would be fine on either. My plan is that if the S3 Olympic checks out I’ll send it and my 35/2.5 out for a CLA.

I may pick up an original 50/1.4, too.
