Changing bayonet mount

I've ordered a bayonet mount from Zeiss for the 25 biogon that brings up the 28mm frame.

Is this something that I can do myself or should I leave it to a pro? Any tips or things should I watch out for?

As I'm tool-constrained and inexperienced, and assuming the lens is out of the 2-year Zeiss warranty, I know I'd have a tech do it. I have had a number of my Zeiss lenses serviced over the years, always by a pro, and have never been disappointed. But that's me. My thought regarding DIY on bodies and lens service: if I have to ask too many questions, I'm probably not fit to do the work 😉

Thanks Mike! It seems it is a simple operation, involving just unscrewing 4 screws, switching mounts, putting the screws back on. However, I am very clumsy with tools and I am afraid that my hand would slip and scratch the rear element. So I might take it to a pro afterall.

Hi Edward
It's pretty easy to do. just surround the bottom of the screw driver with your other hand and any chance of the screwdriver slipping will be very small.

Thank you Nigel. Once I receive the replacement mount, I will give it a soft try first. Sometimes the screws are very tight.
