changing cover photo of that folder in LR

Ok this might be a bit basic but...

When I import a folder full of photos, when I go to the library and hover around that folder ( or any folder ) , it shows me the first photo in the preview box.

Now, lets say that the first photo is crap and I hide it. Problem is still the "cover photo" for that folder.

How do I change that ? Anywhere in LR to assign a particular photo as cover of a folder ?

Interesting question. You are talking about Lightroom (LR) ?
I am a long time user of lightroom but have never seen a feature like cover photos of a folder. I navigate with the tree on the left menu through my folders. Could you please explain what you mean with cover photo?

Do you mean the picture that appears in the upper left window when you move the mouse over a folder in the tree?

yap exactly that photo, how do I assign a particular folder to a folder !. and yes I mean Lightroom

This window has no presentational use. It's used for controling the zoom-factor while editing. So I doubt you can asign a cover photo to a folder. But perhaps someone knows better?

LR will show the first photo in that folder. If you drag in first position the photo you want to show up, it will then the one been shown. Of course, it means that the sort order becomes "User Order" instead of any other sort method you chose. But it might be important for you. Hope it helps. Alain
