I have a feeling that this has been discussed here before, but I searched & found nothing (story of my life).

I have a M6 classic, and would like to change the wind and frame selector levers for the M3 type. I have checked DAG camera, and he has some black ones, but I'm looking for silver.

Does anyone know of another source for these parts (apart from Leica Service - I don't like their prices, or attitude)

All suggestions most welcome

TIA.

Sadly Leica parts come at a premium. The factory are very choosy about who they sell to, and manage the prices very carefully 🙁

I recommend it

I recommend it

It's a more solid feel, with a cleaner and lower profile look. Had it done by Don @ DAG at the same time as a CLA and upgraded rewinder (brass SL2). Highly recommended.

I'm looking for a replacement black M6 lever here, as mine seems slightly bent -

I'm not looking to spend a lot, but could help someone recover some of the cost of an M3 advance lever.

Is the black M4-P advance the same as the M6? I don't remember. If so I am changing mine out to chrome. I am also chancing out the preview lever. Let me know.

I had my black M4-P style advance lever changed against an M3 style lever and now have changed back to the original M4-P lever. The all-metall M3-style lever hits the shutter speed dial every time you let the advance lever flip back and slowly ruins the shutter speed dial ... At the MP, the advance lever is either longer or in a different position because there it hits the hot-shoe but has never contact to the shutter speed dial.

As far as i'm aware, all the short levers where for double stroke M3's. If your double stroke has a longer lever then it's probably been changed to the later single stroke version. The only reason I can think of for the lever change is that the Leica techies thought that with a single stroke, a longer lever required less effort and therefore gave less stress to the winder mech and film strength. Anyone else?
