Until something of theirs is coopted...The guys who really tick me off are those who steal your image, alter it very slightly in PS, and then copyright it as unique, under their name as their creation. Many of the local photo students do this kind of thing a lot. They think it's cool and legal.

Just ran into another change I hadn't seen before. I went to read a site owned by a fairly famous cinematographer and found that you not only need to join the site. Joining means turning info over to the site owner.
I don't know what problems he may have encountered. His wife and one other person seem to run the site. I've never encountered any bad behavior on the site in the years I've been reading it. Of course, the bad stuff may have gone unpublished.
Having a guy of this caliber answer questions (he doesn't answer them all) is certainly worth money. He covers lighting topics and solutions a 4 year education at UCLA Film School wouldn't provide; and, he does it for free, between projects. So, the site is of great value to many film students and many working cinematographers.
