Charles Moore Dies

He made some powerful images of the Civil Rights movement in 1960s.

I got a chance to meet with him, talk and have lunch last year. His memory was slowly fading, but his eyes and mind were still as quick as ever. He observed everything and always knew when I took a photo of him.

[John Rountree]

He lived in Asheville for a couple of years after his retirement. I met him once and enjoyed our conversation, though it was too brief. He was a really good photographer. We are a better nation because of his images.
