For anyone in the UK who uses Agfa print film, the basic Agfa XRG 200 ASA,is available at the Lidl supermarket chain, in 36 exp. twin packs for 1.99GBP.They are quite long dated as well--- 2007 & 2008.🙂

As autumn approaches it's also a good idea to keep an eye on Sainsburys. Unsold film is not returned to stock, so is initially discounted and then sold off on the "end of line" shelves. I bought 40 rolls of Kodacolour 400 ISO (24 exp) at 20p each.

Cheers, Ian

I 've just bought a couple of five-packs of Fuji Superia 400 from 7dayshop.com for the price stated by Zuikologist. I also bought five rolls of Agfa Precisa 100 for £1.99 each, a rather nice price if you are interested in slide film.

thanks Brian, I mentioned this in another thread a little while ago, got no response 🙂
I stocked up the freezer with some, seems good film.
also good is Lidl 's Premium Photo Glossy Ink Jet paper, (Unicorn brand made in Switzerland) £5.99 for 50 sheet box. They had it in again this week, it tends to sell quickly.
Works really well with my Epson printer.
I bought some about six months ago, and the prints I did then are fine.

Sticky warm, yeugh!! Even the cat (who can't take off his fur coat) has taken to sleeping in the bath!!!
Very non photogenic weather!!!
Must get back to Wales for a visit some day soon.😎
BTW I originally miss-read your title as SCOT FOR THE LAD which baffled me, an age thing I guess!!

You were right about the photo paper John, picked up a box of 50 sheets today, but even better, down here it is going for 4.99 a box,🙂

Cheers,
Brian.

BTW.scotforthlad, refers to the district where I lived in Lancaster,I was born there, but moved down to Wales as a lad.So I was almost a Scotsman, but after 52 years in Wales I should probably think of myself as Welsh.
What was that saying going the rounds in my schooldays- ' crazy mixed up kid'!

I know Lancaster well, I lived in Kendal for a while in the 1950's, my father was seconded to a large carpet manufacurer Goodacre's in the town. I went to St Georges school across from the station. We lived in Sandylands. I still have lots of relatives there and in Silverdale near Carnforth. I particularly remember the ancient electric trains which used to run to Morecambe through Scale Halt!! There used to be a good camera shop in the Fishergate.
Happy days. BTW must tell the Lidl manager they are discrimating agains us by charging more (typical tight Scotsman!!)

John,
That's remarkable,we may have been breathing the same air!!
My mother came from Lancaster, and met my Dad when he was stationed up there with the Royal Fusiliers during the war.My maternal grandparents hailed from Ulverston and Dent.I well remember the trains from Green Ayr Station to Morecambe,I still have relatives there. My mother remembers Silverdale as a place for family walks after a bus trip up from Lancaster when she was a girl.
Moved to Swansea, my father's hometown, when I was 9,but still have vivid memories of my early days up North, and very proud of the links.(I suppose that you can take the Lad out of Lancashire, but you can't take all of Lancashire out of the Lad.)
Cheers,🙂

Where in Swansea are you Brian? It's my hometown too. I'm now living near Bingley in the Democratic Republic of Yorkshire.

Hi,
Over on the Eastside,in St.Thomas/Danygraig.Originally landed in Cwmbwrla---quite a mouthful for a nine year old from the North of England!!

Been at present location since the 60's,like it a lot.Where did you hang your hat?

Brian.

Born in Penlan, then moved to Fforestfach, then Tycoch where my folks still are. I stayed in school in Penlan through all the moves. My sis and her family currently live in Dunvant but are moving to Pennard.

I used to work in Cwmbwrla - the big Dollonds Opticians on Carmarthen Rd.
