Hi there,
I'm looking for a lab that will process and scan my 35mm c41 films. Does anyone know where I can get this done for a good price?
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks,
Lena

Genie Imaging. They're good, too - and very quick.
(Having said that, their processing website has been flaky recently. Might just be that it doesn't play nice in Firefox)

I'll second Genie Imaging, also Peak Imaging in Sheffield are very good too. I have had water marks on some positives from Genie imaging (nothing that didn't come off easily), before I heard about them I used Peak Imaging and never had them.

I've been using these for years, probably not the cheapest at £5.00 for dev and 3000x2000 scans to CD, but clean and consistent

I've found Peak to be good also.
However I must admit a clicked on this thread in the hope of finding somewhere cheaper. I tend to shoot digital instead of 35mm these days - I'd like to shoot a lot more medium format, but the film and development costs are scary.

Bob, Genie Imaging appear to be the cheapest at the moment at £1.99/roll for 120 or 135 and E6 or C41.
BTW You need to add VAT to their prices

I might give them a go Kully. I have a roll of 120 I'm about to finish.

Thanks for all your suggestions guys. I'll have a think about which one to go for. I had heard of Genie and Peak. Ideally in a few months time I'll be able to afford a decent scanner and will then only need to send my films off to be processed.
Thanks again,
Lena

Genie are good, also Rapid Eye in Shoreditch, but they don't do E6. Metro is good but very pricey.

I've used 'The Darkroom UK Ltd' in Cheltenham and been impressed with their service - expensive but talkable to over the phone.

I had to return negatives to Genie Imaging twice, and in the end decided to develop and scan myself.

Why did you have to return the negatives? What did they do to make them better? I'm curious

Another vote for Peak from me. I also use Lab35 and their "sister" Lab 120.
More recently I have also used the "special offer" envelopes from Truprint. Their prints are Ok to see what's there, their basic process is sound and then I run the negs through the Nikon 8000 scanner.

The first time, they developed a film and returned it to me minus the scanning which I had ordered.
On the second occasion a different set of negatives had been developed and were scanned, but the scans were dreadful!
Just my experience: maybe they had a couple of off days! Nevertheless, it gave me the impetus to try to develop my own stuff!

I used these recently and they were quick and cheap (£4 process and scan done same day and back with me the next).
Peak is an excellent lab, but the scanning prices put me off.

Another thumbs up for Photo Express in Hull.
I send them my film from Denmark, perhaps 30 rolls over the past year in 4 batches, and the turnaround time is fast, the scans (approx. 3000 x 2000) are very usable, and most important of all (to me) the film is clean and scratch-free.
I will continue to use them in the future.
