[/FONT] The March 2005 edition of Outdoor Photographer
mentions Kirk Enterprise's new lightweight camera
stabilizer (pg. 24) . It's Kirk's re-marketing of an old idea.
30 years ago, a short screw for the tripod socket and a
light chain to step on to stabilize the camera was in vogue.
Today, you can send Kirk $29.95 (plus PP?)....
or you can skip down to your local discount store and buy
a small nylon pet leash for about $3 and change.
DON'T fasten it to the camera... rather, slip your left
hand through the loop up to your thumb, bring the camera
to your eye, and step on the snap end of the leash to steady
your self. Great for those 1/10 or even 1/5 shots. And you can
get the nylon leash in just about any color you want.
FWIW - I cut off the snap, but leave the swivel for weight.
