Cheaper lens hood for C-Biogon?

I've just got this lens and am planning to buy a hood for it, since that's just something I do for all my lenses. Upon checking out the CZ site, I've noticed the hood costs more than $100 USD and that's definitely out of my price point.

Do you guys know of any 3rd party hoods that are less wallet denting? Especially would like one that could support a filter, as well.

Edit: I suppose I should have specified that I mean the 35mm f/2.8
 
The Voigtlander LH-6 for the 35/1.4 and 40/1.4 is the same mount (it's probably same hood, though have not compared side by side) and will work - I own the ZM35/2.8 and CV40/1.4 and use the CV hood for both. It will also fit the ZM50/2, and likely also the ZM35/2.
 
That's a very cool ZM50/2 hood alternative! It should fit both the ZM35s, since they all share the same bayonet, and same hood. The only problem would be vignetting, which might be remedied by sanding/shaving/filing the hood back a bit.

The problem I've had with the $5 *bay vented screw-on hoods is depending on vendor, they're sometimes quite narrow in diameter. Meaning, might be OK on a 50, but vignette on a 35/40.
 
Oh yeah! The first one looks like it might do the trick. I should have read those descriptions, I didn't think they had the same bayonet type mount.

So awesome to get a first hand testimony. Do you know specifically which you're using, though? You can tell the difference from the front of the lens hood pictures, FWIW.

I think we have a winner!
 
There are some cheap (<$10 US) metal 43mm screw-in vented hoods on Ebay and Amazon that work great.

I prefer the ZM one though. Goes on and off quickly & very secure. of the nicest hoods I've ever used.
 
I have both 35/40 Nokton and 50/2 Zeiss hoods for my c-Biogon and Nokton 35/1.4, and use them both with no problem, however, I use them on APS-C Digital body. I like 35/40 hood on Nokton since ND filter (B+W) fits under the hood. 50/2 hood would be very tight and cannot turn to lock on the lens. I don't know how the 50/2 hood would work on full size or film.

This is the one I have. Cris who designed them, very kindly sold me the prototype as I was going on a trip and didn't have enough time to order one before I left.

Thanks a million, Nigel. This thing seems like the best bet for the money. I'm going to give it a shot if I have problems with my lens after it gets here, although I doubt it will!

Edit: Oh, does anyone have the actual dimensions of this lens when attached to the camera? I can't seem to find it on Zeiss' site sans caps and I'm hoping this will fit in my various bags with the lens hood on!
 
I just want a hood that won't make me fear vignetting. I know about the real Zeiss, but they're priced pretty high. I have right now a third-party one that makes me fear vignetting (I didn't consider the chance until I was half-way in the roll), hence the hoods made by this guy look appealing. However, before sending credit card information, I'd like to know if he's still in business.
 
Well... I found out again on my own, and the manufacturer of these hoods is still in business. I just ordered one for my own Biogon (the square thing with a viewfinder cutout) and will report and recommend when I get it (which will take a while, as they have to make it and then send it).

Stay put and wait for news! 🙂
 
UPDATE: Today, Oct 14, 2016, I got my lens hood from Cris Rose, the designer of this alternate solution, for sale at a site called Shapeways. It's 3D-printed and fits my Biogon 35mm f2.8 perfectly. It's a square front, not like the Zeiss hood, but it does have a bayonet mount, so it works perfectly. I wanted to post here again, because it was from this thread that I got the information to purchase mine.

Go ahead, go alternate! 🙂

Can you take a picture on the hood mounted on the Biogon? I want to get one for my Biogon F2
