Cheapest replacement covering for my M2 that will look original?

I got covering from Aki-Asahi for my M3 and MP. The covering looks like Leica original vulcanite, but the quality and feel is much better.

I have recieved the ordered coverings 2 weeks after placing an order.

IF I had an M2, I wouldn't go cheap w/ the covering. You have a treasure and it deserves the best you can put on it.

I have considered letting the vulcanite fall off and just accept it as normal wear and tear!

I think the Asahi covering will be the way I go ... it looks closer to original IMO.

The strange thing is that around the area where it's chipped there appears to be a very large bubble or blister ... almost the entire area on that part of the camera seems destined for disaster because of the noticable air space under the vulcanite ... and it's incredibly brittle.

Gaffer tape maybe?
