Cheap? 820 GBP are apprx. 1200 Euro are apprx. 1600 USD! The offers on the german ebay are quite a lot cheaper.

Bought mine on eBay UK for GBP 750. Great condition. I think this is a decent price. Wouldn't want to go much higher than this though. Have seen some packages with the 28mm Ultron for under USD 2000 which works out about the same. Prices might be starting to go up again though as the myriad of M8 discontents come streaming back to the R-D1 (or am I exaggerating?).

Well, its all relative. The weak dollar certainly means it isn't attractive to anyone tied to that currency. But for someone in the UK its a good deal - no VAT/customs to pay, no hassles with payment/delivery that you can sometimes get dealing with Germany (why do so few German sellers take Paypal? IBAN transfers are really expensive over here...)

I thought that whenever you order something within the E.U., you don't have to pay your homecountrie's VAT/customs anyway.
Regarding payment and delivery I never had an issue, yet. Last delivery was a nice 28 M-Hexanon from Belgium. The money was in the seller's account within 2-3 business days and shipment of the lens was also about the same period.
Within the European Union, IBAN transfers should not cost more than any domestic transfer.
Some days ago, www.kamerasonline.de offered a brand new R-D1 with two years warranty for around 1100,- €. So, 1200,- € for a used one is not quite a bargain.

I thought that it was throughout the E.U. and not only within €-land.
Recently, we transfered some money to Poland and the recipient didn't complain about any charges.
Maybe I should check my bank account to see if they charged me instead 😱.

I have made many transfers to/from € countries no problem. I also, as you know, just bought an R-D1s from robertwhite and the costs were 1.83£ = 20DKK
Prior next time he/she is paying you it might be worth asking to share costs (or if you have standard contracts write in payer pays all costs - leaves some negotiation room)
