I "inherited" some old RF gear from my father-in-law. One of the lenses that intrigued me was a 50mm f1.5 Simlar from the Tokyo Optical Company. He bought that and a 135mm Rokkor and a Leotax body in Japan around the Korean war time - I think, gotta ask him.
The 50mm is very heavy and is surprisingly clean apart form a small scratch on the front element. I was testing all the misc lenses I have, to see which were keepers and what were tossers so that explains the very unartistic shot. I was using a Leica CL so focussing at f1.5 isn't its strong-point - I think I was aiming at the sheet of paper, but anyway there is a thin band (about 1 1/2") of sharpness around the crack in the table and thru the glaze in the pot. But what amazed me is this very odd looking bokeh. It gives the picture a really old fashioned almost turn of the century feel - in my eyes anyway.
Film is whatever the latest Kodak B&W C-41 is - processed only and dumped on a CD for $3.50 at Costco! In 20 minutes too! You gotta love the good ole USA. When it comes to parting punters from their moolah we are #1 😀
