I remember about five years ago I missed out on a black paint M3 on eBay by a couple of hundred dollars. From memory it went for $3500.00!

These current prices we're seeing asked are ridiculous!
 
lol its as if at that time leica made their own black paint , no they did not.. find a 1950's mercedes black paint formula and get it painted professionally lol

So, my post must have hit a nerve with you. Are you one of the aforementioned species that compelled you to respond and start judging me?

Rich - nah, I don't think so.
Envious - maybe - there's a lot to be envious about if I were in your shoes (age, looks, skills, health, intelligence, etc)

That was exactly the same thing I thought, when i saw it. Initially I thought it was a misprint, and he wants $4500, but since it sold on Ebay for $14000, I know its not, and i find it to be somewhat ludicrous. And if someone has a $45000 to spend on camera, why would they do it off a Craigslist? If it was me, I would use either Tamarkin, or any other reputable seller, but certainly not someone who wants to meet in some bank.
