check this out!

Weird indeed as there is nothing useful in a Fed with Kiev mount. It would be useful the other way around, a Kiev body with a Leica mount. In contrast to the Kievs, with the Feds and Zorkis it is the Leica mount what makes them valuable, not the bodies. On the other hand, the available lenses with Kiev\Contax mount are rather limited for such enginery marvel body as the Kiev and Contax are.

It's very interesting as an hybrid, but this project basically spoils the benefits of having Zeiss lenses with losing two of the advantages of a Kiev/Contax body : wider RF base, higher shutter speed. But it's interesting :)

This camera is genuine.

Small number of them was made for Topographic Service of Soviet Airforces shortly after the war; this camera predates Kievs. The bayonet was installed to take advantage of quality 50mm Zeiss Sonnars that became available by then. Notice that it is internal bayonet only.

Today refitting an LTM camera for Contax bayonet may sound weird, but back in the days Sonnars were *the* best 50mms available on the market.

That's real. Really rare. And if any collector who sees it and knows what it is, it's going to go for twice stupid money.

Did I mention it was rare? Really reallly really rare? Yes, though all of this presumes it's legit. The photo's look good to me, however, so I'd be tempted. Let me put it like this... If I was certain it was legit (and I just don't know in the end), I'd BIN as I could double that price historically...

So it goes,

William
