Check this out!

It mystifies me ... all that care and attention to detail and what appears to be meticulous quality control ... yet my M8 came with a vertical rangefinder misalignment ... and I'm not the only one. Is there someone employed there they don't know about who likes to give the cameras a good belt with a mallet just before they're packed up and sent out! 😛

And not to mention aside from an 'available light' camera it's an 'available technology' camera! 🙄

oh yes ... and all that guff about "these photos could have only been taken with a Leica camera!" ... please! :bang:

Then again ... I suppose they're not the first company to 'wax lyrical' about their product. 😛

Notice the body language. When it comes to the part of the target audience and why Leica should be delisted, his body language ties in with his words. BUT, check out the part on the investment in digital technology and look at his eyes (2:03 and 2:08), a dead giveaway, and absolutely unconvincing to me!

Keith, I remember someone waxing lyrical about Leica on this forum. Why the change? 😉

I do like the cameras but can't quite relate to the rather boutique mentality that seems to surround them at times ... and I'm not pointing the finger at Leica here either. I was serious when I said that it's a mystery that such apparently high standards can produce such flawed products occasionally.

Apart from which as far as I'm concerned when I bought an M8 I paid my money at the door so to speak ... and I can now say what I like about them.

I'm still in love with my M2 and my Leica 1a though but my M8 has left me a little non plussed to be honest Mike! I think I'm becoming old and cynical! 😛

Oh come on!

So you don't agree that digital is the future? That is what he is saying. No matter how you may dislike his body language, he is still right.

I don´t see that special something either, but coming from a quite famous german photographer who uses all sorts of cameras (and certainly not only leicas), he may be seeing something we don´t (which is our loss). He´s a pretty cool guy btw. "I still can´t walk past a nice old mechanical camera."

I could have understood that statement if it eluded to the lenses because we know they are first class ... maybe he was refering to the whole package and we should give him the benefit of the doubt because yes ... he did seem like a pretty cool guy! 🙂

This has nothing to do with me. Read my post again. What he is saying and what his body languages says appears not to be in sync. Happened not once, but twice. Compare this with the rest of the interview. I have even given you the time reference. HINT: check out the way the eyes twitch.
