The last one I attended was cool. I hopped a train from Detroit to Chicago, then took the Blue Line out near the hotel and cabbed it the rest of the way. Show was smaller than I expected, but still fun:

The day before, I spent wandering around the Chicago Loop area, taking B&W photos with rangefinder cameras.

I was the only RFF'er who bothered to show, although many said they would and didn't.
So go this time! I'm not going to go back to be by myself. I've lived in Chicago, it ain't that much fun.

For those who don't know, Don Goldberg (DAG Camera Repair) and Bob Rotoloni, Nikon Collector, Author, and President of the Nikon Historical Society, are memebers of the CPCS. Bob also happens to be Treasurer of the Society.
Both gentlemen, as always, will be present.
BTW.........Great Pic's !!!

Thanks - that was the day that Central Camera building had caught fire. It was very sad - I was afraid Central would never reopen.
I bought a Yashica 12 at the show at a VERY reasonable price.
I'd love to go again, but I'd like it even more if other RFF members wanted to meet there.
And to meet DAG - I mean, how cool is that? Come on you, lazy slugs! Spring is sprung - get out of your cabins and find your way to Chicago!

Yes. I posted also, I even wore my RFF hat. Nada, zippo, and zilch.
I *might* be there this year. If half the bums who said they were going to be there bother showing up this time.

Bill, do you remember if the cab ride was reasonable? I'm trying to figure out the best way to get out to this, and since i'm near the BL, this might be the easiest mode of travel.. i've been in this city for almost 10 yrs., and sadly, i still have zero understanding of the impenetrable maze that is the 'burbs. The last one I attended was cool. I hopped a train from Detroit to Chicago, then took the Blue Line out near the hotel and cabbed it the rest of the way.

I think I won't be able to make it. I have a small stack of papers to grade and one of mine to work on (it's due on May 15th).
There will be one next year... and I'll go to that one because I won't be teaching, but right now... the flesh and the wallet are pretty weak.
