Chinese rangefinder: Yasuhara and Phenix

I continue with my questions about cameras. 🙂

Ok, the camera seems well constructed. And its compatible with M - Mount. Have a great viewfinder 1:1 , 1/125 sinc. flash, 1/2000 of top speed. I believe that have TTL metering. But I not safe...

Why this camera isnt sold well? I like very much. And I prefer take this camera for a long travel that my M6. I never see in ebay this camera 🙄

Very nice camera that is not readily available here in the US. According to Stephen Gandy, it is not in production anymore.

The Yasuhara is not an "M" mount compatible camera. It is a Leica Screw Thread mount camera. LTM.

Also, unlike the Cosina made RFDR cameras (Voigtlander, Roelli, Zeiss-Ikon), the Yasuhara and Phoenix cameras use a Copal shutter designed for SLR's and only has one set of curtains, which under some circumstances can leak light. The Cosina made cameras use a special modification of the Copal shutters with a second set of curtains in front of the normal set, that completely makes the shutter light tight in a rangefinder camera.

How much cost the camera? 😉

Design?

It's personal of course, but I don't like the design.

Mr. A, design a shutter dial, Mr B design a viewfinder, Mr C design something else, and the result is...a Yasuhara.

That said, new rangefinders don't come often and this is good news, and if the price is VERY good you never know. An extra rangefinder is always handy.
