I just received a nice Chinon 35F-MA P&S AF camera. The lens is a 38MM F2.8 lens with a 46MM filter. This is one of the earlist AF cameras to be mass produced and has a flash override [which I really like], auto advance and rewind, rotating on/off switch which also contains a battery check, off, A, and self timer. Two diods, red and green to tell if you need the flash or not. Nothing new by today's standards, but as I fooled with it I noticed that with the lens cover on, the shutter speed drops to around 2-3seconds. I then turned off the light in my office, took off the lens cap set to self timer, focused it on a dark object and after around 10 seconds, the shutter stayed open for about 3 seconds, which really surprised me in two ways. What little information I found about the Chinon is that it focuses with two infrared beams which focuses quite nicely and quickly in a darkend room, and then the lens stayed opn for about 2-3 seconds.
Is anyone out there who's familiar with the Chinon Infrafocus? I took two shots on an almost finished roll of 200 Fuji, and will see what comes out tomorrow when I pick up the roll.

Congrats on the Infrafocus. I have one and I really enjoyed shooting with it as it is a great performer. The lens on this camera is really nice and the focus lock is great. I didn't shoot any low light pictures so I am very interested to see how yours came out.

Here are a couple of shots taken on my Chinon 35F-MA. The one was taken through the car's side window - I wanted to see if the Chinon would focus through glass. I guess it did. I loaded some Costco 400 in it tonight and will see how it'll handle the 400.
