I have registered with the new Fuji website http://choose-film.com/
It seems to have got the attention of a few dedicated photographers already, and it is good to see that Fuji are well and truly supporting those of us who use film as our chosen medium rather than digital. :D

Thanks for the HU, John. Clever move from Fuji, which seems determined to occupy the vacuum left by Kodak's shift to all-digital.

Cheers,

Abbazz

Hi Abbazz, Think you are right there. I am using Fuji as well as Kodak film right now, and in the process of testing Neopan 400 in case I can no longer get Tri-X.

Regards, John.

Fuji black and white is good stuff but, If I understand correctly Fuji seems to discontinuing almost all their developing chemicals and bulk film.

Hi Steamer, The chemistry situation does not bother me since It is not available freely in the U.K., However It does concern me that bulk film may be withdrawn. Maybe they will reconsider as in the case of Velvia ?

Regards, john.

I just signed up. I'll probably never use the site but just want to add one more vote so Fuji knows there are film-lovers.

It turns out that apparently this site is not directly sponsored by Fuji, but by an independent company that's authorized to market film and such on behalf of Fuji.

In any case, I think it's a good thing to have more film resources out there on the net.

What are your thoughts so far on Neopan?
Brian

Hi Brian,
I love it so far having used some a while ago. I used HC-110 Dil B for 5 mins at box speed. this time around I will be using Dil H for 9 mins and rating it at Ei 200, and less agitation. This is how I soup my Tri-X, and it seems to give better shadow detail and more manageable highlights. It was good before in all but the most contrasty light, when the shadows were empty, so an extra stop should do the trick. These examples had a generous exposure at the time and are good to my eyes.

Regards, John.

Wow, all of a sudden everyone is posting this site everywhere saying:

"Look! Fuji has a new site dedicated to film!"

Surely, any site dedicated to promoting the use of film and photography is worth supporting. Especially when this involves a major manufacturer declaring their intent to support film. Kodak TAKE NOTE !!!

Darron Hartas is also the man behind Fuji Envisage, the marketing support network for wedding and portrait photographers in the UK, so he is pretty tight with fuji
