Yup I've been reading this transversally this morning. I'll send him a message later, when I'll have more time to read quietly ;)

I also want to send a msg, also show him some of my pictures taken with zeiss ikon but it seems I can not comment on his blog...

I like his photos showing the viewfinders of the ZI and M7.

Lots of photos taken with the ZI and lenses. He likes them too. (In addition to his Leica stuff)

Jep, interesting read, the text drew me in as much as the photos did.

I'd call that honest.

Is this guy such an important photographer that people will gush at his unfocused, rambling, juvenile writing?

Yes a good, personal experience write up from somebody who uses these day in and day out. A nice change from a lot of reviewers who may have only handled an RF once or twice.

Nachkebia - I think you have to create a login to comment, and if you are not a regular commenter it goes into a queu for review before posting. He posted the same thing on his devart page too - if you have access to that.

Well, at least he takes pictures, he is cool, he has taste and whatever he says he means it, I better listen to him than other guys who talk focused 349483 pages and take 1 photo a year, all this frankly :D

Maybe it's just me, but this piece reads like it was written by a self-absorbed 13 year old boy who wants everyone to think he's cool, who is having trouble expressing himself in English and who has just discovered four letter words.

And? how is it better than guy who is excellent writing but does not have any valuable picture? he can no express in words because he expresses himself with photography, visual communication you know :) I prefer him over highly professionals writes without photographic talent...

I think that that is my point :) But don't kid yourself. He knows full well what he is doing, and he knows full well that there are people who will think that it is oh-so-cool.

LOL Well my English is awful and that`s why I am not a writer but again, who cares? one thing that counts is truth and honesty, he is not trying to be politically correct or he is not afraid of scaring his blog visitors with some kind of amorality, so he is the way he feels is right to be, not like others.....

What Nachkebia said. I have talked several times with Chris and he's really a nice person, and one who does use his gear on a quite intensively. So if you put the writing style aside, I think you get a pretty accurate analysis of his use of the cam. But as always, YMMV.

I'm looking forward to meet Chris on his next trip to Europe.

Max

To be honest, I liked his review because I liked his photographs. The review is the way I like, he uses the product in the real world without tripod, test chart....... His written word, not my style, but the results of the review is shown in the photos.

I think Chris's review is "out of the box" and not your typical techno-speak about camera gear. Let's remember this is a Blog site and nothing more. In other words, enjoy the photo's there's a lot of great work there. If the language offends you than let's put the *warning* up with the link. I'm sure that it wont stop people from reading the review.........

Yes, I read it last night. I agree, that was a good, honest review.

In the photo of the horse's halters, I think you can see the front-focusing tendency of the Sonnar wide open, with the focus on the hay. I hope he can comment more on this "problem" the more he uses the lens. Otherwise, the Sonnar really does have a nice rendition and bokeh.
