Hello,
I'm thinking seriously to by myself somethig for Xmas!
I've a Summaron 2.8 and I'd like a Summi 35; my budget is 400-500 euros: Is it worth it? Is it better use the money for something else and keep the Summaron?
Thank for the advice
Luca
PS Sorry for my bad english!!

the summicron will be slightly sharper compared to the summaron but each lens has it's own character.

It all depends on what other lenses you have already. If you only have the one lens (Summaron 35) then I'd buy another focal length before replacing it with a Summicron 35. If you already have every other lens available that you're likely to use, then perhaps upgrade (?) the Summaron. Do you have a second M body?

Thanks Frank for your replay - yes I have 2 summi 50 and 2 bodies (M2 and M6)

What, only 2 50's? (Joke: see the thread called How many 50's is too much.)
A 90mm would be nice, or a wider wide angle. I have a CV 25mm Colour Snapshot lens with finder that's a bit of fun.
If you decide to "upgrade" the Summaron, be sure to offer it for sale here at RFF. I know some folk who would be interested.

mmmm.....I had a Russar and (stupid me) I sold it, and I have a CV color heliar 75. My dilemma is: would a summi 35 be so much better than my summaron?

PS I will never part me from the Summaron!!!

Get a Bessa T with a VC 25mm/4. It is a great combination, and it is priced well.

Well-known
At wider apertures, the Summicron has better and more uniform sharpness (from the center of the frame to the edge) than the Summaron. At small apertures they should be very similar.

I, finally, bought a Hexanon 35/2; it's in great condition but is lacking the front lens cap (diameter 46 mm) ......I searched the camera stores of my (small) town and eBay with no luck. Has anyone a front caps to sell or a suggestion to share?
Thanks
Luca
