chrome lens hoods?

you can always spray paint them! I wonder what the material of the hoods are, would sanding the finish off do anything...my 50 planar's hood has worn down in some places to the white primer but nothing more then that yet.

It might create a glare problem in the viewfinder if the light is coming from the the right direction. You can probably locate a Kodak or Tifen series VI hood in a silvery (not sure if it's actually real chrome) finish and series adapters are still available. The hood will probably be forty years old and look it! Even back then Leica users were mostly using the Leitz hoods with the push button clips, a black hood with chrome base. Nobody worried about coordinating their color schemes.

But this is 2009!...taking pictures is secondary to looking cool with your jewelry hanging on the chest! 😀

With a Leica IIIc and a Zorki 1C, I never had the V/F problem of which Al speaks: probably because I used accessory finders with both. However, focussing was a hassle, with light being reflected into one or both R/F windows. I painted both hoods flat black.
