I go w/chrome if I have a choice, but have a few black cameras, too. I just think chrome looks & holds up better.
I've never noticed camera color/finish making any practical difference when shooting on the street, but then again, I don't have any blaze orange or hot pink cameras.

Urban streetshooters in particular, I'd like to hear why you prefer a black-bodied rangefinder, or a chrome-finished camera. In this 21st century environment, you see a lot of flash (i.e. "bling") and middle tones, but black objects might pop out of the ordinary. These days, we like black. I do. It's no longer the color of mourning, but of power and prestige. It seems to stand out and my eyes are attracted to it. Please tell me why you use a chrome camera, or a black camera.

I shoot both, but certainly if I were to guy a new Leica, I'd buy a black one. I want to be as invisible as I possibly can.

It only matters if a chrome camera is reflecting sunlight into the face of your model.

I'm not really an urban street shooter. More of a travel shooter. The thing for me is weight. I think ounces count! Black cameras and lenses are lighter in weight. That would be the only consideration for me. Having said that, I shoot with a Contax IIIa and an M3, so maybe it's envy.
