Chrome Serenar in Meters

I picked up a beautiful chrome 50/1.8 Serenar not long ago and instantly fell in love with the look and feel of it on my M5 and of course on my IIb.
Then about a week ago I picked up another one at the pasadena camera show attached to a IIIa.
After comparing the two, I noticed a difference: One of them has a distance scale in meters, not feet.

I've never seen or been able to find another Canon chrome lens in meters.
Anyone else?

Ah...that how I got into collecting (1994) when I noticed two of my Canon 135mm f/4 LTM lenses I had picked up had different layouts on the ID ring. As I was an ex Philatelist that meant finding out why. One thing leads to another and in the end it was a nine year research.

Most rangefinder lenses can be found in "ft" or "mtr' but the later is not so common. It was issued for the EU market or the home market in Japan. The main market was the USA. There is no added value to either marking. Peter

How does your 35mm f3.2 perform? I have the 35mm f3.5 and I'm plagued with flare (I've had it CLAed). I'm experimenting with homemade lens hoods now. I like this lens as it is so small and is easy to adjust the f stop. My 100mm Serenar is a solid performer, but is much larger than the f4 Elmar 90mm. It does seem to be as sharp or sharper.
