CLA and Photos

Well, in my ears a recent CLA sounds good, but than I do want to know who did it and what was done. Well done CLA gives chance that the camera will be working fine for some longer time (though it is no warranty of course).

And about the fuzzy shots - if somebody trying to sell his stuff is lazy or just not interested to make some decent shots of the camera or lens - I do not bother. Either he/she is trying to cover for some problems or it is a manifestation of his/her approach and ability to make business.

When I sell something I always try to provide as good photos AND description of the item I am selling as I can. Then the buyer knows that I care and that I know what I am selling. These are cameras, not second hand T-shirts.

I had a Barnack CLA-ed in 2010, and I didn't keep the receipt.
Big deal. If it really bothers you, why don't you ask who did the work, the name of the seller, and then ask the repairman if they have a record? Personally, your attitude pisses me off too -- "that everyone is a crook, and if you don't have a receipt then obviously it's a fraud" -- and I'm not even trying to sell my camera, so if other people have the same reaction maybe you won't be so surprised.

Hmmm, life would be very boring without the fuzzy pictures of something on ebay described as an "old camarer" that we can see is a Leica M2 or minicam etc.

And, given the weird range of prices thing fetch on ebay, I don't see any point in being logical. I'm sure we've all looked at something and thought that it would never sell at that price and then been amazed as people out-bid each other. And how many of us have looked and seen a better one for sale an hour later at 99p, with one bid on it? And (sob) I can remember how little my Bron went for...

When items are sold on a forum like this, the member's posts become their references. Read up on the seller, look at their photo's, learn something about them.

If I put up an Item for sale that had a recent CLA in the last 10 years, I will note it. Am I going to dig through a box of receipts looking for an out of warranty receipt- I doubt it. You can accept the seller's word for it, check up on the seller's reputation, and make an informed decision.

Or, just don't buy the item.
