So, I get this Nikkormat with a really nice 50mm pancake-not the series E version. Basically, the camera body for nothing--seller refunded back $15 for seals I could replace myself--seals are sticky and the mirror seal needs replacing too. But more, the camera could use a CLA I suppose. bottom three speeds don't work ( 1, 1/2, and 1/4 ). Best I can tell the other's do, but I haven't tested it, and the seller didn't either. Nice looking body.

I might like to get this thing up and running as good as new if possible without breaking the bank. Anyone got a suggestion for someone who could work on this? Or, should I toss it. I have one Nikon body left. A FM I'm going to replace the seals this week. And the Nikon 50 pancake. That's it. The FM works great, just needs seals replaced.

Whatya think?

I have a Nikon FE getting a CLA and repair from www.camerarepairs.com in Avon Indiana (Central Indiana)
I do live in the next town over, and Bob (the owner) has been in business since the 70's.
He has cleaned a repaired many lenses and cameras over the years for me, and I have never had a return for a bad CLA or repair.
I just aquired a Nikon F2, and I plan on getting a CLA by Bob also done. His charge w/o a major repair is around $75 with a 60 day warranty.

If you are a user, than an under $100 CLA is worth it.
