CLA or repairing older film Nikon SLR cameras

What are you repairing? F and F2's can be CLA at most shops.
I've used APS Authorized Photo Service a few times.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I have a Nikon F with bad slow shutter speeds - the shutter opens but does not close until I advance the film. I also have several ais lenses that need service.

The slow speeds of the F are controlled by a separate mechanism that often has problems after decades of use (or non-use). It is something many repair shops won’t have a problem with - it probably just needs to be cleaned. I can’t think of repair shops in PA but if you’re going to ship them out, there’s plenty of shops in northeast US that can handle your camera and AI-S lenses.

Depending where you are in Pennsylvania, there are a couple of shops in the Willow Grove, Abington area that have good ratings.

The Nikon F is a camera that any competent repairman can repair, assuming he has access to parts such as from a parts camera. Midwest Camera Repair in Wyandotte MI will repair almost anything and is an authorized Nikon repair shop.

About four or five years ago, I had my local dealer send one of my FE2 bodies to Nikon for replacement of the foam, shutter speed and metering check, and anything else it needed. I don't know if Nikon is still accepting such work, but I imagine they are.
