Hi everyone, I'm a new to this forum and have read a few threads about 35RC repair which were active a few years back. I purchased a 35RC off ebay and put the light seals in, etc. But when i load the battery, the auto mode wasn't working. The shutter fires and seems to work in manual. Since this my first 35RC, I really don't know anything about the camera except what everyone's saying over the internet. I'll try to open it using the guides posted in the previous threads, but i prefer to send it to a CLA technician, preferably in Puerto Rico or US. So, who did your olympus 35RC CLA? What's the usual price range for a 35RC CLA/repair? Thanks

This is a lovely little camera that you have to fix, though I must admit its not easy. I tried to have my Dad's copy cleaned at a local store (Singapore) and the technician didnt want to give it a shot due to the lens being all fogged.

I hope you get your up and running!

There is also Camtech, the guy posts here sometimes. I wouldn't try to open it if it's your first one, it's the most densely packed camera I've seen. Be aware that the camera locks the shutter if the exposure is out of range (until you change it), You may find you use it in manual most of the time anyway.

i sent an email to rim of nippon photo. he said they charge $60 an hour, but you have to go to NY to pick your camera up (no return mails).

There is a well recommended camera repair shop in Harrisonburg, VA, but I forget the name of the shop or owner. If somebody can come up with contact information it might be worth contacting him.
