I just finished packing my Leica IIIc and my Canon IVF rangefinder cameras to be shipped to Mr. Youxin Ye at YYeCamera in Canton, MA, for a complete professional CLA. In several weeks, they should both be working better than new, and ready for another 60 years.

I am very excited, and will be on pins and needles until they return, and hopefully, spring will return with them.
 
Youxin has always treated me very well. He did some shutter work on my M6 and it is purring like a kitten.
 
I can tell you that Youxin will do an awesome job on your camera. I've had him CLA my M2 and my IIIc and they both work like new (or what I would imagine they would have been like when new...). :)
 
Ideally how much is it for CLA'd?

Not even sure if my Leica M4-P needs it... I'm assuming it hasn't had any CLA'd...
 
Youxin CLA'd a Leica IIIc for me a few years ago including shutter work and more recently an M2-R. He did great work on both.

Youxin CLA'd my M4 last week. Honest and good person to work with.
Encyclopedic knowledge of mechanical Leica rangefinders.
 
Just heard back from Youxin, the CLAs on both cameras are done. He said that the Leica was in "very poor condition" when he received it, and that he had to replace the shutter catch disc, due to damage done by an improperly done flash sync conversion at one point in the past. But he says that he did the best that he could on it and that it works well now.

The Canon was in much better condition. The rangefinder coupling was not working because of a build-up of mold under the top cover, but it is working well now, after some extensive cleaning. He also replaced the long shutter curtain because of rotted rubber, and removed a small dent in the top cover. He said that it is a very nice camera, much better than the IIIc, and surprisingly he said that the early Canon LTM cameras are better-built than the Leica's that they were based upon.
 
Well he's seen enough cameras by now to make those judgements. The last one he did for me was an M2-R and he put it back together for me while I was sitting at his bench. Apparently my copy is in very good shape and good for another 20 years or so. Youxin is honest and straightforward and speaks very directly, he also knows his limits and if he can't cope with something he sends it to DAG. He seems to be doing very well and I'm glad for him, his eBay sales business is going well too.
 
I bought a M4-2 that looked nice on the outside. Unfortunatelly all was not well. After all the slow speeds packed it in I sent it Youxin and he found that someone had "repaired" it before. (Probably someone who specialized in garden tractors.) He said the slow speed geartrain was completely gummed up with the wrong lube. He had to clean out the old gunk to put it put right. Now it is pure silk.

I have a Rollei 35 S a practical manual and zone focusing compact camera whose needle exposure meter overexposed by one stop, she's my candidate but somehow, I haven't managed to arrange for shipment and the logistics to have her sent to Krimar Photoshop.
