I have just discovered this treasure trove of photos from 1935
to 1945 done/made by the giants of that period for the F S A and the
O W I all on photogrammer .yale and by all I mean 170,000. ENJOY!

It appears to be the same collection as the Library of Congress (http://www.loc.gov/pictures/collection/fsa/) & that's been posted about many times. That Yale has added nifty interfaces to access/search the collection is news to me.

There was an exhibition of prints made from some of the Kodachromes that they showed at the LoC (http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/bound-for-glory/exhibition-items.html) &, IIRC, a version of it toured the country.

I just don't understand why there is not more interest in this exceptional archive. I've spent hours looking at it

I'll revive this old thread because I just learned of this from an article on another site.

It's worth some time poking around the map - playing with the date slider, selecting and deselecting photographers, and of course the images themselves are pretty amazing. The tree map and dashboard are cool, too - select 'view labs' under Visualizations on the home page.

Get your geek on.
