I've realized that with the new classified software, some of the previous inquiries to sellers by email were not received, perhaps going to outdated email addresses or the spam folders.
If you made a seller inquiry in the new updated classified software and did not receive a reply, please try it again now by PM.

Now, is it just me or is the search option (in Classifieds) not working? I get a return of "0 items matching..." when I'm quite certain I searched for a term in an ad I just read seconds before.
If its my stupidity, sorry bout that. Otherwise, I did like the search option in the past...
RFF: aka Really Friendly Forum! My favorite place to "talk" with other rangefinder nuts (er, people), but also where I prefer to find new gear (used gear that is).

Time parameters?
How do I do that? I only see a box with the word "Search" to the left of it and a "Go" button to the right. And that's it. I find this at the bottom of the "Classified Guidelines" section (lower right).
I don't see any other possibility for searching, although I thought I remembered the ability to specify time parameters some time ago. I can do an advanced search of the forums, but not Classifieds. For searching forums, I use the option found in the top toolbar (just 2 options right of Classifieds). That doesn't seem to apply to the Classifieds as well.

Let's say I type "summicron" into the search box. If I click on any time range (last day, last 7 days, last 14 days) I receive the "There were no results for your query..." message. If I click on "all ads" I simply receive all ads, regardless of whether "summicron" is in them. I get the exact same behavior if I leave the search box blank.
I also tried placing my keywords in quotes. No luck. I made sure spelling and capitalization matched keywords I knew were in recent ads -- no luck.

that's odd, it was working yesterday. I'll have the tech have a look !

Of course, its not the end of the world, but occasionally I like to search the ads for odd items I suddenly need (or think I need) that may be languishing in older ads.

For some reason I can only see my pm's here by logging in to rff
They don't come to my email address as in the past , before
An email was received stateing that I had a new pm on rff

you must have changed something in your settings. The PM interface with the classifieds is just a direct link to the PM interface on the forum which means nothing has changed in the way pm's are handled or processed.
I did bump up the limit of pm's one could have in case their box was full and no more pm's were getting through.

It shows messages above the ads .
I click on it , well there is someone interested in my ad .
I try to pm them , it says I am messaging myself .
I finally click on the potential buyers user name .
It brings up their profile page .
There is a contact member link.
Hey I can send a response!
I type out a response apologizing for the delay .
It goes where ?
Does not show In my pm box or in the messages area I find on classifieds .
No response from potential buyer .
To all buyers and sellers !!!!!!!

Only send questions , ill take its , and low offers , to that email address //// buyers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just PM'd burancap from the classifieds. He confirmed he received the PM.
enasniearth you currently have no classified ads running. that may have something to do with the PM problems you are having - I'm not sure and will have the tech guy check it.
IF anyone has doubts about not receiving PM's,
Let me know and edit your ads to include your email address as a backup.

I did delete the ad as there were no pm responses ,
After I deleted it I saw 4 messages on the header , the same 4 messages
Remain , there was a serious buyer then ,
My Irish grandmother always said don't throw good money over bad .
And she always had patience with me at cards and such .
So no problem .

that makes sense then.
If you replied thru the classified PMs AFTER
you deleted the ad, the system would most likely
not know where to send the PM.
I'm refunding your latest ad.
Please repost with your email address just as a back up.
I will send you a PM thru the classifieds to test it.
