Classifieds-new wave?

I lurked for quite a while before posting and I'm still below 100 posts but I have sold through the classifieds. If you get buyers to leave feedback people will have less of a problem buying from you.

The first thing I did on this forum was buy something from the classifieds. An SLR at that. I'm breaking all the rules, I suppose.

I think the massive price increases on Leica glass have caused many old-timers to hesitate selling what they might not be able to afford to buy back should seller's remorse kick in.

RFF needs new members to grow. As long as the new ads follow RFF Classified guidelines, there will likely be few problems.

Asking for additional pics is a good way to make sure newbies really have the item.
Protect the purchase by using a credit card on Paypal. You then have two avenues to recoup a possible loss.

as he has issues with new members.

It's like every semester when I was an adjunct professor at Georgia Tech. New students holding back because of the others who were in my class(es) the previous semester. Or because they just felt "new" and uncomfortable. There really is no need for that.

Hopefully, the bashfulness, hesitation, or whatever is holding folks back from joining in the discussions will change ... as Stephen said, we need you newer folks. Now, for all the old-timers (not sure I like that term😛), we need to contribute to GAS as much as possible, which means no hoarding...😀😀😀

As far as new folks selling on the classifieds, Stephen's suggestion is certainly good. For me, I would appreciate more posts just because everyone has a lot to offer. (It certainly would help in your sales, too.)
