i think i shot some these with a 28 and then a 21...there were a few shots with my finger in the lower left corner
the body seems to mostly work fine.
there were 2 shots where the shutter speed that fired was way slower than what the meter indicated.
lots of snow fooled the meter a bit.
i did the 'bang the camera on a mouse pad' trick and that seemed to fix the slow shutter firings, it might just need a good cleaning.

Are you happy with the camera?

Nice shots Joe. Tell me, were these shots taken on auto or did you use exposure compensation. My reason for asking is I've found the meter on my CLE to be easily influenced by light / dark subjects, even when I think it shouldn't be.

all on ae.
i wanted to test out the camera. the snow shots (not posted) were off but salvageable in photoshop.

Nice shots, Joe. I especially liked the market shots. Looks like the ae is working pretty well.

I guess you now understand why I shed a tear every time I look at the empty spot on my shelf. I should have sold the M5. Use it well, Joe.

sorry to hear that you're still missing the cle gerry. i have to admit i have been wanting another ever since i got back into 35mm shooting. this one was dirt cheap because it's not 100%, but i think with a good cleaning it will be. i need to send it off to kinderman here in canada and then get a nice new 40/1.4 for it, though i may just stick the 28 on it for now.

Get the Rokkor 40mm/2.0. It is the lens meant for this camera. Why settle for a CV? [this will ge me a few booooos]

i'm thinking something a bit faster raid.
i hardly think that a cv lens is something that would be settled for.
the 40 single coat has been compared to the 40 rokkor multi coat so i think it's like being in the same family.

Thanks for the reply Joe. Not had my CLE long and only had about 3 rolls through. Use the 40mm rokkor and the CV 25P, rf coupled version with mine.

Congrats on finally getting back to the CLE, joe. I know you've been regretting selling it. The shots look great! I don't think you can go wrong with the any 40. I think with the CLE the important thing is not to compromise the size, and the CV 40 doesn't do that at all. Have fun!
p.s. Keep this one this time!

Nice shots, joe. The CLE is the easiest-focusing camera I have. There's a lot of contrast. What's the film stock?

film was xp2, rated at 200.
i played a bit in photoshop, upped the contrast a touch and added some small amount of unsharp mask.

Joe,
What does the unsharpmask do? I have never used it.

See the article in Wikipedia, it is quite thorough without swamping you with information. Basically, the unsharp mask removes the low-frequency (blur) elements of the photo while keeping the high frequency (edges, sharp contrast changes). You can vary the intensity and size of the mask. Paintshop Pro and photoshop both have it as a standard tool.

Unsharp mask is also available in Elements, which is available for less than $100 if you don't have it.
There's also a function called "despeckle" which I think is under the "Blur" tab, which is very kind to B&W negs with large expanses of sky or other single tones.

Were these with Voigtlander 28 f3.5 and 21 f4? I thought you sold your 28mm f3.5?
