Cleaning Epson V750

I have an Epson V750 which has hazy glass. I've cleaned the top, but the haze appears to be on the under side.

I haven't even looked to see how to get inside or remove the glass to try and clean it, so maybe it's obvious.

Does anyone have experience doing something even remotely like this? Or is it best to leave to a professional?

I haven't used the scanner for quite some time, but I just moved it to a more convenient location in the home and am about to start on a big scanning and cataloging project that could last until I'm eating dirt. :angel:

I've cleaned mine twice now and I managed to find instructions somewhere as to how it's done. When you lift the lid you will notice four plastic caps ... one at each corner. Under those caps are the screws that hold the top on and there is a trick to getting those caps out but I can't remember what it is. The top of the scanner itself comes off very easily as does the lid assembly.

If I can do it you certainly can! 😀

Mine is very hazy again at the moment and I'm starting to worry about how much haze may be on the lenses.

To remove the caps over the four screws, I used a piece of masking tape. Press the tape into the surface of the cap, then pull up.

There is a notch in the caps that needs to be aligned with a tab on installation.

You have to use a good quality masking tape like 3M brand, not the dollar store type. I actually find the 3M duct tape a bit better.
