Looking for a Good working old CdS clip on (shoe-mounted) light meter:

The Capital C-8, Vivitar model 24, Sekonic L-136, Accura meter all come to mind...

Anyone have one or know a source? Thanks!:)

I don't know if the Voigtlander VC Meter II is still available, but I really like mine:

I use a vivitar 24 and find it pretty reliable and accurate. The needle can be jumpy, but usually it's not an issue. Seems to work for many months on a rayovac 675 zinc battery.

Vivitar meter deal did not work out:( Still hunting for a CDS clip on meter, Let's add the Petri and Kopil torpedo models to the list. Anyone out there have one or a lead?:)

Those VC meters are cool- but over $200 is too much for me:eek:

But it fits on 5 of my cameras, and some fine gentlemen on RFF sent me a lanyard so I can use it easily on 3-4 other cameras. Plus the lanyard feature lets me check exposure for an in-camera meter. Of all the purchases I've made in the last 8 years the Sekonic meter, the VC II, a Pentax 6x7 camera, and an Olympus 35RC have been the best. So, for me, it was a great investment. You have to think long term. I still using a IIIf that I bought in 1964 with this meter on top.

After a fairly long search- I found what a wanted- a Sekonic L-136 Cds Cilp-on meter- works well and is pretty small:)

The Vivitar 24 CdS is often a bargain on eBay.
The one I own is accurate with a modern 1.5V 44/76/357 cell.
Though not a spot meter mine has a surprisingly narrow FOV.
