Clip-on / Hot Shoe Rangefinder

Anyone know about the Brownie Mfg. Co. "Measure-Rite" rangefinder? I find it interesting that a divison of Kodak (?) made one of these considering they already had their Service Rangefinder. Is it a difeferent design than the split-image Service unit, i.e. a coincidence rf?

I recently picked up a Dejur Amsco rf. The unit is spot on accurate all the way down to it's minimum focus of 2'6". Not only are there means of adjusting vertical alignment, one can also calibrate both infinity and minimum focus by separate means, thus ensuring correct focus through the entire range.
