Close focus G-III?

I was playing around with a #2 close up filter tonight, holding it in front of each of the 2 viewing windows to see if it is possible to gauge distances. No luck. The filter comes with a little conversion chart, but that seems like a nuisance.

Is there a way to visually use a close-up on a rangefinder, or do I need to dust off the K-1000?

Are there any rangefinders that have a decent close up capability that I should keep an eye out for? Maybe 1.5 feet or so seems like a reasonable distance.

I never had any luck, but its always nice to dust of the k-1000 every once in a while.

I have been toying with the idea of using a +3 with mine, but haven't come across any charts. It should be fairly easy, if you have the proper charts and measure from the focal plane of the camera to the subject. Obviously a tripod and a t-square (home made or not) will make the necessary accuracy of measurements easier. Is you conversion chart only for the +2 or does it include +1 and +3? Or does anyone know the measurements for +3 at infinity or closer?

I have seen that there is a close up device for the Konica Auto S3. It concists of a close up lens with a window for the rangefinder on top, like the old auto-up things for Canon screw mounts. I don´t know how good it works or if it might fit a Canonet. I don't think they cost many $$$ on the e**y, so it might be worth a try. I've got something similar for my Nikon S2 and it works, allthough the mounting arm to the cold shoe is broken, so it is not very handy and mostly rests in a cupboard.
