Close focus on Ms

Hi everybody!

Although I love my Leicas (M2, M3 and M4, have to sell two of them but not sure yet which ones...) one thing I just hate and miss from my Nikon F2 is the ability to aim to something closer than 1m.

Is there any way to close focus with these Leicas, other than using an adaptor (let´s say with a Nikkor 50 1.4, so no rf coupling) ? Do current models perform better with this?

Dual Range Summicron. You can also do it the old fashion way. Use a close up lens and bend a coat hanger to make a framing device set at the appropriate distance from the lens. fasten the coat hanger to the tripod adapter and away you go..
