Wondering if anyone can recommend a film similar to old Agfa-Pan 400, or something with a thicker film base. I'd like to try Cinestill BwXX, but it's pretty expensive to use long term.

Internet wisdom says that the rollei rpx 400 is the closest to it. I have not tried it though so i cannot comment.

Thanks! I'll check it out. From what I've read it's possible that Rollei RPX 100/400, Kentmere 100/400, and Agfaphoto APX 100/400 are all the same film, manufactured by Ilford/Harman. Maybe I'll shoot a few of each and see the differences.

RPX 400 and Agfapan 400 are not that close they have a very different grain structure. APX 400 is grainier but the grain is more pleasing imo.
RPX actually reaches the stated speed, whereas APX was always more of a E.I. 250 Film.
I am talking about the old APX not the Agfaphoto stuff that is nothing but repackaged RPX/Kentmere.
Bergger Pancro 400 is closest to APX imo but harder to get. RPX 400 is a nice film and worth a try just don't expect APX results.
