I baby my photo gear as much as the next "Fondler". And I pride myself on managing to keep my gear in almost immaculate condition. However, I have recently noticed a disturbing "coincidence". In less than 6 months, 3 of my Rangefinders have been knocked out of focus- an M4, RF645, and now (apparently) an R3A. Only the M4 do I actually remember banging- and I have a tiny, but definite dent to show for it. The rest came as a surprise on looking at some negatives.
RF adjustments are generally not something you DIY. Professional attention is neither cheap nor convenient. Now I am quickly becoming obsessed with it. How easily does this happen ? Do I need to worry about this every time a roll seems not as sharp ? Has anyone faced this issue any more than "hardly ever" ? Any tips or neat tricks
(other than the obvious) to try and prevent this ?
