So, a lot of RFF members seem to hang out in coffee shops - great for that low speed steady hand eh...

What's your frame rate per coffee hmmnn? ;)

(I like the photographic results BTW).

FYI...Starbuck's, at least several stores in Seattle, has a ban on photography inside their stores. So, I'd have to say zero.

It's because of the ban that I take so many shots inside Starbucks :)

If you use a mobile phone they should be able to ask to see the photo, and throw you out, with a Kiev you can tell them there is no screen on the back...

Wow - a ban?:( I wonder if they have any pictures hanging on their walls?

Gene and Noel - - yep I seem to remember some RFFers mentioning being asked to "delete" the photos on their 50 year old RFs some places.....

There's a cozy little place in my home town with delicious coffee, tastier and cheaper then the starbucks down the road.

I love coffee shops, but I find chains hard on the wallet. I bought an espresso machine, and it has already payed for itself many times over. There is a Mom and Pop type on in my town (Troy NY) called Flavour Cafe. They are really nice, clean, and have excellent service. They also hook up our photo club with wall space.

You Said Photos were encouraged, so here we go.....

trittium, I really like that first shot, the double exposure one. Has a wonderful "otherworldly" quality to it.

Okay, here are a couple of my "non-Starbucks" coffee shop shots:

Like vrgard, I'm w/you on that principle, though I don't really take many shots inside Starbucks because they're so generic now.

You are right on that point. Even Howard Schultz has commented about that and directed his minions to fix it.

Those who have commented about other coffee houses are on the right track. Many of our local, independent coffee houses are very photo freindly and often are venues for photographers, and other artists, who would most likely not be seen.

Bottoms up....
