Hi,
I am really a n00b... I packed my LTM Collapsible Elmar 50mm and 90mm with the Voitlander LTM to M adapters with my CL with the intention of shooting a roll around the river quay.
I just realised that I can't really fit the elmar into the adapter, as in, i can't tab the lens into the locked "infinity" position as it interferes with the adapter.
Duh.
I have a LTM Canon 1.9 that works alright, but for my Industar-50, the tab itself interferes with the CL's lens release button.
Can I ask if this is a problem for other LTM collapsibles as well ? eg. Summitar, Summarit or Summicrons ?
thanks

I can't figure out why you can't move the lens to infinity. The adapter shouldn't make any difference--at least not that I can visualize. Can you take a picture of the problem?
More importantly: do you know not to retract the lens into the CL? That will break the meter stalk.

... likes film again.
As Rob mentioned, be very careful with a CL and coll. lenses. The meter arm and mechanics can be easily broken. About the infinity lock problem, which version of the CV adapter do you use? There were two different versions, one version with a larger cut-out to be used with lenses that have an infinity lock.

I have a collapsible 50 cron M and it doesn't interfere w my CL. I'll post a picture when I can. My ltm 50 industar also doesn't interfere.

The CV Type I adapters have the infinity lock cutout; the Type II adapters do not.
The original Leitz adapters also were available in both flavors.

hi,
thanks for the reply.
I didn't know about the type I and II.
If I infinity lock the elmar 50/3.5, I can't completely screw in the lens into the adapter; conversely, if I screw in the lens first, I can't infinity lock it.
Anyone with this issue ?
thanks
ps. This CL has a faulty meter, and I have collapsed the Canon 1.9 without any issues.

Dear raytoei, your J8 is on my IIIF now. thanks.
The problem u encountered is simply because of the adapter. u need an adapter with the cut to allow the infinity lock go through.

roundg,
thanks for your illustrated response. let me check on fotodiox whether this type I adapter exists.

(ps. I hope the J8 turns out great, mine is en route to brian for "shimming")

So that is what the cutouts on my Leica adapters are for... I knew the F3.5 Elmar had a problem with my Canon 7. It usually stays on the Leica IIIa.
But now, I will kknow which adapter to use for the M8.
