Collapsible lenses issue on ZI. Hi, happy new year to everybody out there! Can somebody tell me if there are some problems mounting collapsible lenses on the ZI camera? I thinking to by one 50 collapsible Summicron . Thanks

I can't speak from personal experience, but I believe other users have reported that the collapsible 50 summicron will collapse safely into the Zeiss Ikon.

Try searching the forum -- I'm pretty sure this topic came up a while ago.

I currently have Elmar 50/2.8 and Heliar Classic 50/2, and both collapse safely. Not sure about Summicron, though.

Go for it. To my eyes, the collapsible remains the best version of the 'cron and is well worth owning. When you get it, mount it with the camera's back open & the shutter on B. Watch how everything goes together & you'll soon see if it will work. If need be, take a hair binder & wrap it twice around the lens barrel. You'll get most of the collapsiblity without any threat to any of the bits on the interior of your camera body.

Good luck & good light!
