$300 with no scratches, but these are hard to find. It is an outrageously good performer by-the-way -- ignore any bad press ever written about this lens

I was FORTUNATE to find one in MINT- Condt / 1956 ...:)
$399.00 / Pristine Glass & Body

Helen, that is a great deal

I got mine here in the classifieds for ~ $240, then $140 or so for the usual overhaul. I think mine's a '54 (1,21...) so it will be my oldest lens.

I am a lover of the collapsible summicron. Be different from all the following version, collapsible summicron has its unique signature that can't be duplicated by any other lenses.

It's also very affordable, though depends on the condtion. If you can find one without scratch less than 500USD, you should grab it without hesitate.

Thanks Helen!

umm... I don't think anyone really wants to know what mine cost.
it came w/ IROOA shade and caps. And a M3 DS w/ MR4 meter.
No scratches, but some haze that got cleaned out in a CLA.
After the cost of a CLA on camera and lens? total of a bit under $400.
(CLA's cost as much as the body and lens did)

This is an excellent image, Helen. Compositionwise, I like it how the ends meet in the top left corner.

The collapsible 'Cron is the lens that stays on my IIIG. I've been using them for 40 years and they defined Leica photography for me.

Will it collapse on an M8? What hood is reasonably priced for a collapsible?

about hoods:
depends on the camera you want to use.
if it's an M, go for the vented/tilted original or the OEM screw in.
The knock offs are a good match to the ergonomics of the collapsible (as opposed to the last version for example)

If it's for a barnack, the hood may well eat lots of your VF.

I tried to upload a color shot taken with my Collapsible Summicron, # 172600. But the website woujldn't let me. I had already uploaded the same shot on some previous thread. Isn't there some workaround for this? Changing the name of the picture didn't help. The picture police are really on the job . . .

Well, if nothing else, my two collopsible Summicrons, one in LTM and the other Bayonet, are right thre in my avatar . . .
