Brian,
This thread sent me to my camera bag to check out my own LTM collapsible Summicron, s/n 1191xxx.
Where does that put in terms of year of manufacture, relative quality among 'Crons ?
LF.
1954.

That is in between samples that I've personally used. Would be interesting to see some shots with it. I'm looking at a 5x7 in my office made with my 115x Summicron, and it is quite good.
What color is the coating of the 119x lens?
John:
Had to wait for daylight to check it out....
Coating appears to be bluish in color, when looking at the front element from the side.
Looking straight-on through, the glass appears to be "water-clear" with no obvious yellow or brown tint...
Will see if I can find some pics from this lens... over the last couple years, 90% of my fillm photography has been with my uncoated Elmar 35mm.
Ferider:
Thanks for pinning a year on it !

The collapsible Summicron was my first Leica lens. I sold it years ago, and always did regret that sale. I finally got another one, as period-correct lens for my Canon P. So clean that it surprised me
Here it is; cann't wait to use it.
A super combo with the P's 1:1 finder. Compact and very sturdy.

Roland, does that shade have a cut-out to clear the infinity lock/focusing tab?

Yes, Frank. A couple of minutes with a file ...
